directive 6: take a damn vacation

It’s time.

Time to take a damn vacation.

It’s summer, after all.

Remember how you used to get summers off of school, and it was the world’s best invention ever?

Well, you can do that again. Now. As an adult.

Whether your vacation is literal (ie hiking a mountain in Colorado) or metaphorical (ie giving yourself permission to daydream for 30 minutes each day for a week), you have earned it.

Work hard, but then remember to rest. And play.

Such a foreign concept to us adults, sometimes.

I have just returned from a literal vacation (actually hiking mountains – er, a mountain – in Colorado), and now I’m headed to my metaphorical vacation (saying sianara to the internet for several weeks). It’s nothing personal. I’ve just earned it.

And so have you.

I encourage you – see how you can create more space in your life. Where do you waste time, energy, money, resources? How can you conserve and give yourself more of that freedom you dream of?

It can be a giant trip out of the country.

Or it can be a tiny trip out of your busy brain.

Either way – I’m for it.

See you on the other side.
